Because there all tiny holes in the Mentos that make all the gas in the coke get released at the same time. If you put the Mentos straight into the coke (or diet coke is even better) you get a massive burst of foam out the top of the bottle. If you drink the coke first some of the gas will already be released by the time you eat the Mentos so the foam won’t spray out your mouth but it will make your tummy feel a bit weird. There are loads of good videos on youtube showing mentos being put into coke, they look like good fun!

Hi!
When you put mentos mints in coke this causes the carbon dioxide gas in the coke to be released and causes the coke to fizz and up and squirt out of the bottle like a fountain!

I am not sure what would happen of you ate both cokes and mentoes at the same time but maybe the coke would fizz up in your tummy and make you feel a bit funny!

I think it would make me sick because of all the sugar in both the coke and mentos! Too much sugar, no matter how it comes always makes me feel a bit ill.
