      I really like one that I demonstrate in schools. You get some hydrogen peroxide and some potassium iodide and add them together with soap. It’s really cool. Here is a video of it, but not done by me.

      One of my favourite neuroscience experiments is one you can try for yourself called the McGurk effect, and it shows how your brain has to try and put together all the information that is coming in from around us to make sense of it.       Hi Kevin,

      My favourite experiment is one that works! Sometimes, through not fault of our own, experiments just don’t work. It can feel a little frustrating at times.

      Another fun experiment that you could try at home (actually better outside as its very messy!) is to put some mints (mentoes work well) into a bottle of diet coke.

      Then step back quickly as it will fizz up and explode! This happens because the mints cause the carbon dioxide gas to be released from the coke.
