Hey James, my favourite cells are called oligodendrocytes! They have a special job in your brain to help you learn things, for example when you learn a new language or musical instrument at school the oligodendrocytes strengthen the connections in your brain that help you need to remember the new words or notes.

When scientists examined Einstein’s brain he had a higher than normal amount of oligodendrocytes!

They are also my least favourite because I have been trying to grow them in the lab for my experiments and they don’t grow as nicely in a dish as they do in your brain unfortunately!

If you look on my page I’ll put up a picture of the oligodnedrocytes growing alongside neurons (the main type of brain cell) that I took on a special microscope which can give the cells different colours.
