• Question: How many stars roughly are in the solar system?

      In our solar system there is just one star – the sun! and all the planets orbit around it.

      In our galaxy (the milky way) there are about 300 billion stars and astronomers think there might be 100 billion galaxies in the universe. If each one of those also had 300 billion stars… well, thats a lot of stars!!

      Just one, our beautiful sun!

      Because of the what our solar system looks like, scientists are trying to see what other solar systems (planets around other stars/suns) look like, and if they are similar to our own one.
