Hi great question! The heart is mostly made up of a special type of muscle cell, called cardiac muscle cells. Because the heart pumps blood around the body, it will also contain all the cells contained in the blood; the red and white blood cells.

Most of the heart if made up of special muscle cells that make the heart beat but there are also cells that make the valves and pipes for the blood to flow through as well as some connective tissue cells. But its pretty amazing that a heart can be made from this small number of cell types!
