I once helped talk a person off a motorway bridge. It was crazy, my adrenalin was pumping so fast. Then once he had climbed over, the police arrived and arrested him. Probably the most nervous I’ve ever been.
Hey Niall, I’ve never saved anyones life directly but I’d like to think I’ve helped a few people have a better life. I worked at a summer camp in America for boys who have a really tough life in New York and getting away for the summer gives them a chance to get out of trouble for a month and hopefully teaches them lots of skills they can take back to their normal lives.
I don’t think I have saved any lives yet. I hope that one day in the future my research will help women who can’t have children to finally get pregnant and to have a healthy baby. So I hope to help ‘create life’ which is a bit different to actually saving lives.
I have never saved a life. But I do hope that the discoveries we make in our research will give us a better understanding of how to treat people with immune diseases in the future.
