That’s a really great question and I don’t know. I would think that because it is everything, then as it expands it is just making more space. There is nothing outside it. But this is a tough idea to understand because it doesn’t sound logical and this is why the physicists who work on this are amongst the cleverest people on the planet.

Well the definition of the universe is that it includes everything. So whatever the universe is expanding into is the universe as well and we may just have to accept that the universe is infinite. Questions like this really boggle my mind! What do you think about it?

As far as we know the universe is everything, and we also know it’s expanding. Believe it or not it creates the space it expands into as it goes.

These kinds of questions make my brain fizz! I am glad there are lots of physicists who are trying to find out more about it. Professor Brian Cox is really good at explain concepts like this to people who don’t have a physics background, you should look him up!

The way that I understand it is that the universe includes everything and when it expands it is expanding to empty space. This really makes my mind boggle!
