I work with a real mix of scientists. In my little office area alone there are scientists from 10 different countries and there are only 20 in here. That is one reason I love science, you get people from all backgrounds together. My friend next to me went to a private school then cambridge university, whereas I went to a really rough school that’s now closed down. I think this mix is one reason I love doing this.

      Hi Molly,

I’m lucky, because I work with my friends! We have about 20 people in the lab who all study the immune system (the cells in your blood). But we are quite a mix of people, some are biologists who do experiments at the lab bench and others use computers to do experiments.

Hey Molly, I work in a little office with only 3 of us in it, there’s me, my friend Abi and the technician called Ian. My lab is really small so there is only 6 of us in it and the rest of them have their own offices. We all study the brain but slightly different parts of it.

      Hi molly!

I work with about ten other scientists in my lab. When I’m not doing experiments in the lab I go to the office to work at my computer. I share the office with four other girls and we are all good friends. It is always nice to work with people who you get on with so I am very lucky!

I study reproduction and fertility. I look at why a womens egg cells get more dodgy as the women gets older. We hope that by understanding this better we can help women to have healthy children.

      Thanks for your question!

      Hi Molly,

I work with all sorts of people, other students of different levels and scientists of all different levels. My lab at the moment is quite small there are only 7 of us, but throughout the year we have lots of younger students coming and going. Because we are both a university and our building is in a hospital we get a lot of doctors as well. In fact around the corner of my corridor we have a forensic pathologist – he examines dead bodies found in suspicious situations. We also have “regular” pathologists who look at the bits of cancer taken out of patients from surgeons!

I work in cancer biology, but in my building we have scientists who look at hearts and lungs, all sorts really.
