      Hi Tommy,

I’m not an immunologist, Michelle would probably be best to answer your question more indepth. But I’m gonna try and answer your question as best as possible!

Your immune system is what protects your body from harmful things. The immune system is constantly working all the time to make sure we don’t get poorly from all the germs that naturally occur everywhere.
When we do get ill, your immune system does kick it up a few notches to make sure we get better faster. Funnily enough, when we cough, sneeze or get a temperature this is in fact our immune system trying to fight the illness.

I hope that answers your question and I’m sure Michelle could help me out if I missed any bits!
