There are 2 main types of cell in your brain. Neurons are the ones that are all connected together, control your thoughts and make your muscles move. They connect by sending pulses of electricity down their long arms until they reach another cell where they release a chemical that causes the electricity to fire in that next cell. There are lots of different types of neuron as well though, depending which part of the brain they are in they are specialised to move muscles, receive information from your eyes and ears, or think about the past or future.

Then their are Glia cells which help the neurons out in different ways. Some protect them against infection and others wrap round the neurons (like the plastic coating on a wire) to send their electric signals even quicker.

You could also say that there are lots of blood vessels and red blood cells in the brain because it needs lots and lots of blood to provide it with the oxygen and glucose it needs to stay alive.
