  Excellent questions by the way yesterday. Are you thinking about doing something in science in the future? Here is a good paper that will act as a nice intro into lentiviruses. Then use the references to find out about anything that interests you. I work in the same department as this man who actually used gene therapy to cure parkinsons disease in a macaque (type of monkey apparently?)
